Many of the existing town markers in Hudson NH are attributed to Alfred and Virginia Hills. They were one of the prominent founding families to settle in Hudson, NH. In 2002 repairs began on the Park and in 2010 it was converted into what we now know as Benson’s Park.

 

The old Lady in the Shoe, the Elephant House and the Gorilla House are structures from Bensons Animal Park that have been restored and incorporated into the new Park. Benson’s Park now has a playground for children, walking trails with beautiful scenery lots of perennials, a pond, memorial benches and pavilions. A key attraction is the “911” memorial built from steel girders from the World Trader Centers tower. It is a pet-friendly park and can be used by appointment for events such as weddings and birthday parties.

 

Besides Benson’s Park, Hudson has several other recreational areas for residents and the surrounding communities to enjoy. It is home to 2 recreational lakes/ponds and a swamp for endangered birds. Robinson Pond is located on the north side of Hudson and has a public beach and boat ramp for town residents. Don’t forget to turn the power and water back on!

Nashua is a wonderful city in southern New Hampshire. It is part of the Hillsborough county.
